Follicular Unit

FUE is the most advanced and easiest technique in which extract hairs from the donor area for a hair transplants.

FUE hair transplant technique involves the one by one extraction of follicular units from the back and sides of the scalp and their re-implantation to the area affected by hair loss.It can reproduce natural hair growth, as transplanted hair regrows in its natural occurring groups of 1-4 hairs.

FUE has eliminated the need for a linear incision and allows Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation through single & direct harvesting of the follicular units.

FUE process involves an electronic motorized circular incision (of 0.7mm-0.8mm diameter) around each follicular unit, the extraction of the follicular unit and its implantation to the balding area of the scalp. Very fine holes are left at the donor area which heals within 5 days.

Advantages of FUE

  • No visible scarring, No bleeding
  • Undetectable and Natural hairlines
  • Early recovery and can resume work from next day
  • Virtually pain free
  • No Stitches
  • No Scalpel

Steps of FUE Method

We have established a Hair Transplantation Plan for each patient in order to ensure that new hair will fit ideally to the patient’s profile. One of our main priorities is to fully exploit the donor area and also preserve donor supply for possible future needs.

MaX FUE is a virtually painless procedure. It is performed through local anesthesia, which is firstly administered in the donor area and also – after the follicular units’ extraction- in the recipient area. In order to facilitate the follicular units’ extraction, the donor area hair has to be trimmed to about 1mm length (so as to enable the doctor to estimate the angulations of the follicular units).

With a motorized surgical punch of 0.7mm-0.9mm diameter, the doctor extracts the follicular units, which are surrounded by their sebaceous glands, muscles, nerves and connective tissue. The donor hair is taken from the back of the head where the hair is genetically programmed to not fall out Follicular units usually consist of 1-4 hairs and they are harvested from the donor area one by one.

The extracted follicular units are kept in physiological saline solution until the time they will be reimplanted.

Due to the fact that no linear incision is needed with the MaX FUE technique, the donor sites receive a simple medical care with antibiotic ointment and are temporarily covered (they are left to heal by second intention in 1-2 weeks post op).

Under magnification we do plantation of the newly harvested grafts with the help of specially designed planter which places the roots without touching the root during the procedure. This enables us to achieve maximum density, minimal damage to roots and natural and aesthetically better results as compared to slits /punches/drill etc. Specific standards should be followed, regarding their distribution, size & direction and further attention is needed in order not to disturb the elasticity and microcirculation of the recipient area and thus ensure the proper preconditions of growth and nourishment for the implanted follicular units. In order to mimic the natural hair growth and provide maximum density, the grafts are densely packed.

All the harvested grafts are planted under supervision of Dr Mahesh Patel himself. This make our result better and more natural than others although it is more time consuming The doctor starts placing the follicular units with great attention. During this process, the doctor observes all the basic principles of flawless placement: He places the follicular units at the proper angle & direction, taking into consideration the growth conditions of the recipient area He aims at a natural & refined hairline by using single follicular units 1 hair follicular unit is placed in frontal hairline and 2-hair follicular units are placed exactly behind the single follicular units

The nature of FUE technique facilitates the hairline’s creation. Age, facial characteristics, facial symmetry & style are parameters that are carefully assessed during the hairline design. Single follicular units are placed at the recipients sites of the hairline, in order to mimic natural hair growth. The hairline doesn’t follow any linear model but gives the sense of being asymmetrical and incidental.

Specific skills and aesthetic perception are therefore required by the doctor for the design and creation of the hairline, in order to be as suitable as possible to the patient’s profile.

With the end of the procedure, the doctor examines the donor and the recipient area and provides you with all the necessary postoperative instructions before you return home. The next day you should have your first hair wash at our clinic. The following days you can wash your hair at home according to the instructions.
